Privacy Policy

The short version: this site has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising, and it does not keep what you put into a tool. The longer version below explains the parts that are unavoidable, because a privacy policy that claims nothing at all is processed would not be true.

What is processed, and why

Three things, all of them a direct consequence of how the tools work.

• The URLs and domains you submit. They are sent to the server so it can perform the check you asked for. They are held only for the length of that request and are not written to any database.
• Your IP address. It is used to count requests so that one visitor cannot exhaust the service for everyone. The count is held in the server’s memory, is never written to a database, and disappears when the process restarts.
• Standard server logs. The hosting provider records requests, which includes IP addresses, as part of running the platform. This is not something this site collects deliberately; it is a property of being hosted at all.

Under European law an IP address counts as personal data, which is why it is listed here even though nothing is stored long term. The legal basis is legitimate interest: keeping a free service available and protecting it from abuse.

What is not done

• No analytics. There is no tracking script on this site — not a self-hosted one, not a privacy-friendly one, not any.
• No advertising, and no advertising networks.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of data with anyone for marketing.
• No profiles, no behavioural tracking, no cross-site tracking.
• No user accounts, so no names, no passwords, and no email addresses collected from visitors.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies for visitors. Your light or dark theme preference is kept in your browser’s local storage, which means it stays on your device and is never sent to the server. Clearing your browser data removes it.

One cookie exists, and it is for the site operator signing in to the content system. It is never set for visitors.

Services this site relies on

Running the site means using other companies, and they process data on its behalf.

• The hosting platform, which serves every page and runs the tools. It keeps standard access logs.
• A managed database, which stores the written content of the site — the tool descriptions and pages like this one. It holds nothing about visitors.
• A file storage service for the images used in that content.

None of these receives anything about you beyond what is technically required to serve a page.

Third-party sites the tools contact

When you check a URL, this server sends a request to that address. The site you are checking will see that request in its own logs, including the identifying string this service sends. It will not see your IP address, because the request comes from this server rather than from your browser.

How long anything is kept

Tool input and results are not stored at all. Rate-limit counts live in memory for a matter of minutes. Hosting logs are retained by the hosting provider under its own schedule. There is no archive of what anyone has checked, and no way to reconstruct one.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to object to its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.

In practice there is very little to act on: with no accounts and no stored records, there is usually nothing held that could be handed over or deleted. Requests are still welcome and are answered — see the contact page.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 16, and no data is knowingly processed from anyone in that group.

Changes to this policy

If how the site handles data changes — for example if a tool ever needs to store something — this page is updated first, and the date at the bottom moves with it.
